There are several airports located in the Greater Boston area. Unfortunately, few of these airports can be accessed using public transportation. Driving times range from 30 minutes to an hour.
Beverly Airport (KBVY)
Several FBOs make their home at Beverly. A controlled airport, Beverly is about 40 minutes northeast of Boston. The Something Different Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch, and is located on the East side of the airport.
Hanscom Field (KBED)
Hanscom Field is home to two fixed-based operators (FBOs) offering instructional and rental services: East Coast Aero Club and Executive Flyers. While the airport is one of the busiest in New England, it is the only local airport that can be accessed via public transportation (Take the #76 from Alewife).

Lawrence Airport (KLWM)
Lawrence Airport is located roughly 30-45 minutes north of Boston, just short of the New Hampshire border. Lawrence is home to Joe’s Landing Cafe, which serves both American and Middle Eastern food, and the Hawk Flying Club.
Norwood Airport (KOWD)
Norwood Airport, located about 25 miles southwest of Boston, is home to The Runway Cafe. Planes can be rented from either A.D.S. Flight or the Norwood Flight Center.
Sterling Airport (3B3)
One of the cheapest places to fly in the Boston area, with Cessna 152s starting at $56/hour, Sterling Airport is home to both the Greater Boston Soaring Club and the FBO Sterling Air Inc. For those interested in lessons, contact Sean Brodeur at 978-422-8860.
